This course/module introduces the concepts of health care risk management, including the role/scope of a risk manager and a risk management plan. This module will focus on identifying risk exposures in a health-care setting and teaches risk management tools to help minimize, avoid, and/or mitigate these exposures by implementing loss prevention and loss control techniques.
Course/Module Objectives:
The main objectives of the course are:
- To explore and present risk management concerns
- To provide knowledge of the risk management process
- To provide an overview of Health Care Risk incidents and action plans
- To examine of risk financing in a health-care setting.
Course/Module Learning Outcomes:
After completion of the course students are expected to be able:
- To integrate the systems for risk management
- To identify risks and apply risk management activities such as loss prevention and loss control techniques
- To maintain appropriate records and actions for Risk Incidents
- To respond to potential risk while developing methods to mitigate loss throughout the organization.
