Course/Module Objectives:
The main objectives of the course are:
- To facilitate student learning in the management of care related to the rehabilitation of adult
- To explore the transfer of care in a variety of settings
- To understand the role of healthcarers and family.
Course/Module Learning Outcomes:
After completion of the course students are expected to be able:
- To examine the current political, professional and societal factors which may affect the contexts in which various patient/client groups (adult, older adult, mental health etc.)
- To identify how legislation, changing professional boundaries and society’s expectations affect care contexts and care of different adult patients
- To discuss the impact on the family of the patient having long term health problems and those requiring rehabilitation
- To discuss the spiritual, socio-cultural, physical and psychological factors in an organization/community that determines an individual’s health
- To apply the rights of individuals or groups in health care settings and be able to discuss the role of the nurse in client’s patient’s empowerment and advocacy.
