Healthcare Operational Management has been designed to fulfil the specific needs and requirements of an appropriate management in a complex healthcare service sector. The Health Care Operations is designed to provide a holistic overview of a healthcare organization and extensive knowledge on planning and facility management.
Course/Module Objectives:
The main objectives of the course are:
- To provide an understanding of the nature of service provision
- To explore how operation management tools can be used to improve patient care through process redesign
- To emphasize on quality issues, on assessing capacity, demand and decision making processes.

After completion of the course students are expected to be able:
- To understand the importance of Health Care Operations Management
- To appreciate the role of Operations Management in improving the health care organizations’ conditions
- To describe how health care organizations can improve their Operations Management capabilities through different approaches, and improvement plans that will reduce waste and improve performance
- To understand the important role of logistics, pharmacy Operations Management, inventory management and supply chain management in healthcare operations.
